He is risen

A quiet landing for Easter morning or Holy Week—four short readings from the King James Bible, then a door to the seven-day plan if you want steady rhythm. Read one aloud at the table, or keep this page to yourself. Use your browser’s print command for a single sheet (nav hides when printing).

It is finished

John 19:30

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

The debt is paid. The cry is not despair—it is completion. Rest here before you rush to the next thing.

He is not here

Luke 24:5–6

And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

The tomb is empty. The angels’ question still sorts our searching: we look for life in places that only hold the past.

Go quickly, and tell

Matthew 28:5–7

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Fear not. See the evidence. Then speak—gently, truthfully—to someone who needs the news.

Firstfruits — alive in Christ

1 Corinthians 15:20–22

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

His rising is not a private miracle—it is the first sheaf of the harvest. If you are in Christ, the same life that broke the grave is already at work in you: dead to sin, alive toward God (see also Romans 6:4–5).
